Description: Jessanak’s church represents the official religion of the Malenorian Empire. The emperor, who is also his high priest, is considered (at least by imperial subjects,) to be his avatar. It was Jessanak (through his first avatar) who established the Empire’s social structure, uniting the waring clans of the archipelagos and raising humans from barbarism. Outside of the empire his church is slowly growing, predominantly among humans. Malenorian supremacy within his church presents the primary obstacle to this and it remains to be seen whether he will invest other monarchs with avatar status or find some other means to address this (or ignore the matter altogether). He would probably gain more popularity among the Rimenosha as well, except that authority in dwarven society is traditionally decentralized and the church of Rimilnix evinces a distinct distrust of him. While he might conceivably draw some followers among the Khurorkh, the prejudice of the Malenorian Empire towards the race and the centuries of warfare between the two has completely eliminated that possibility. His ethos simply has no place in Fehladurh, Surenashi or Benaedreshan culture. His church considers Salistreah (primarily,) to “represent influences not in keeping with proper social order” and her worship (among others) is expressly forbidden within the Malenorian Empire. The rivalry between the two is heated far beyond the point of mutual hatred.
